In a couple of weeks a friend of mine and his wife are opening a store in Poplar Ridge, NY. This store will be a mixed bag of antiques, crafts, leather products and pictures. All of these products are from local business’s in Central NY.

I have a great opportunity to display some of my favorite images from around central NY. My plan is to make six 11×14 prints and put them in nice matted frames and offer limited prints of each one. Each image will be available in any size but in limited quantities. Not only will I have big prints on the wall I will also have a book with 5×7 proofs of other images that can be purchased as well.

I am really excited about this chance to display my work, and offer these images to local people to enjoy for years to come.

The hard part for me is choosing which ones I should get enlarged to put on the wall of the store. So far I have gathered 24-26 images that I like. Now I need to weed them down to my top six. Maybe I will put them up on myJohn Zachary Photography Facebook page to see what people like.

I will let you know what I end up printing on this blog as soon I get them done. You can check out all of my Fine art images on my site John Zachary Photography please follow this blog and let me know what you think of it. Thank you talk to all of you soon.

Last weekend the Seven Valley Street Rods Club of Cortland, NY held their 21st annual car show. This show seems to get bigger and better every year. This year was no different with over 200 entries on the ball field for a great day of Hot Rodding.

The participants started rolling into the show around eight o’clock in the morning from all over the New York area. Each participant had their own stories to go along with the Shiny Paint and Big Engines that give their vehicle’s character.

Above is Joe Nauseef’s old fire truck that he drove from McGraw to the show. Joe also provided the Music and MC work for the days festivities.

Weather this year was perfect with a little cloud cover and temps in the 80’s. Seven Valley club members did a great job cooking and serving food offering cold drinks and hot food to fill the bellies of all the spectators that walked threw the gate.

Quality cars and trucks is what this show brings each year from the oldest hot rods to the modern day muscle cars. Anybody can enter their Pride and Joy no matter what it is and enjoy a few laughs with some of their friends. I remember as a kid going to cars shows all over the east coast during the summer and in the winter for the indoor shows. These were good memories as a youngster, seeing all of these cool cars that people built with their heart and soul.

It was good to see some young people at the show showing off their rides. I hope more of our youth will get involved in these car clubs around the east coast. It is just a great way to meet life long friends, while having good clean fun.

Next up for cars shows in the Central NY area is the Annual Labor Day weekend show at Fillmore State Park in Moravia, NY. The Fillmore show is a big show along with a wonderful Swap Meet as well. Come check it out you won’t be disappointed.

As the days are getting shorter and the nights a little cooler, it must be time for some High School Football.

20130823-075832.jpg

Homer High School Football is a timely tradition in our small town of Homer, NY. Coach Gary Podsiedlik will travel north with his 2013 varsity football team to the Syracuse Carrier Dome for their season opener. The Trojans will take on the Phoenix Firebirds on the big stage at the Dome. Playing in the Carrier Dome seems to be a bid deal for all of the players that are involved, so it’s pretty neat that this years team gets to open their season in SU.

The The Trojans end their regular season at home on October 18th against cross town rivals, the Cortland Purple Tigers. This game is always a great match up, each team is playing to win the Home-Cort Jug. Homer has displayed the jug for past year after beating Cortland 16-6. Cortland will bring their A- game to try and get the jug back to their High school.
